Fudge Brownies

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels (chocolate chips)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)


  • Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
  • Grease the bottom and sides of an 8x8x2 inch baking pan.
  • In a small sauce pan melt butter over medium heat until it is mostly melted - reduce heat to simmer and add chocolate morsels, stir untill melted - remove from heat and allow to stand two minutes to cool.
  • Stir in sugar until blended well.
  • Add eggs and vanilla mixing only until combined. Don not over mix or brownies will fall flat.
  • Stir in flour and mix untill combined. Batter should be mostly smooth with few small lumps. Pour batter into greased baking pan and bake 30 minutes at 350 F.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into approximately 16 bars.
