Spinach Soup

  • 200 gms Spinach
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper powder
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1/2 cup resh cream (whipping cream)
  • 2 tsp cornflour


  • Wash, discard the thick stems and chop spinach leaves and the tender stems.
  • Boil for about 10 minutes, strain and keep aside.
  • Coarsely chop onion and garlic.
  • Fry using 2 tsp olive oil.
  • Grind together the fried onion, garlic and boiled spinach.
  • Melt butter in a pan and lighlty brown the cornflour on a medium flame.
  • Add the pureed spinach mixture, salt and pepper powder.
  • Cook for about three minutes stirring in between.
  • Pour in the cream, reduce flame to low and let cook another minute.
  • Serve hot.


  • Instead of cream you can use whole milk.
