Atta [Wheat] Halwa

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour [Atta]
  • 1 cup ghee [clarified butter]
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts [almonds, cashews and pistas]
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 3 1/2 cup cups water

Instructions
 

  • Mix sugar and water in a pan. Boil and keep aside.
  • Heat ghee in kadai (wok).
  • Add the flour and roast till the flour become brownish. Keep stirring frequently.
  • Sprinkle in the raisins and incorporate them well into the mixture.
  • Now add the water sugar solution into the kadai slowly, stirring continuously.
  • Cook for a few minutes till the halwa leaves the sides of the kadai.
  • Garnish with chopped nuts and serve immediately.

Notes

  • The flour is done roasting when it emanates a Strong aroma which can be smelled from another room.
  • To avoid lumps stir well while adding water and sugar solution.
